Frank's AI Teaching Assistant
Meet your new teaching companion.
Designed by a professor, built for educators. In a world where AI is rapidly transforming education, this app gives you control, clarity, and support — whether you're exploring AI for the first time or improving how your students use it.
Available in the Apple App Store
What it does
Frank's AI Teaching Assistant helps faculty create assignments that guide and regulate student AI use — so students actually learn what they're supposed to, while still preparing for the AI-integrated workplaces they'll soon enter. You decide how much AI is allowed; the app helps you shape the assignment around that goal, ethically, efficiently, and clearly.
Key features
- AI-Use Calibrator — set your preferred level of AI involvement: No AI, Limited Use, or Full Collaboration.
- Assignment Analyzer — upload your assignment idea and the app identifies where students might misuse AI, and how to prevent it.
- Student Guidance Generator — get built-in language to clearly explain AI expectations, usage boundaries, and academic honesty.
Why it matters
Professors are under pressure to keep up with AI. Students are already using it, often without direction. Frank's AI Teaching Assistant bridges that gap — it doesn't just help you teach with integrity, it helps your students learn with purpose. You don't need to be a tech expert, just an educator who wants to do things right.
How to use it
1. Input your assignment
Type or paste your assignment text, import a file (PDF, Word doc, text file, or image), or take a photo of a printed or handwritten assignment.
2. Analyze with AI
Tap "Analyze with AI" and wait about 30 seconds. You'll receive an AI Susceptibility Rating, a vulnerability analysis of what makes the assignment easy or hard for AI to complete, which learning objectives are at risk, specific recommendations, and alternative assignment formats.
3. Set your AI engagement level
Use the slider to choose: AI-Restricted (no AI assistance, best for fundamental skill assessment), Moderate AI Use (limited use for brainstorming and editing, with required citation), or AI-Enhanced (full AI integration encouraged, with documented collaboration, focused on higher-order thinking).
4. Transform and guide
Tap "Transform Assignment" to have the AI rewrite it based on your chosen engagement level, with changes highlighted for review. Then generate student instructions (what's allowed, how to cite AI assistance, examples of acceptable use) and an assessment framework (rubric suggestions, what to look for, red flags for inappropriate use).
5. Share your package
Share the complete report — analysis, transformed assignment, student instructions, and assessment framework — via email, Messages, saved files, or print.
Quick tips
- Start with a simple assignment to get familiar with the flow.
- Experiment with different AI engagement levels to see what fits.
- Save everything to build your assignment library.
- Come back and iterate based on how assignments perform in class.
Free tier includes 3 analyses per month; a paid subscription unlocks unlimited analyses, with a quarterly option well-suited to semester planning.
